Mission – Phoenix Foundation’s Mission is to provide an integrated system of care for individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness that provides resources, education, and advocacy in order to obtain and maintain safe and affordable housing.
Phoenix Foundation About Us
We will provide a holistic approach that recognizes whole person wellness (physical, social, emotional, spiritual, vocational and volunteer) with the goal of retaining their housing. One of the most basic needs for members in our community is a safe and affordable home. Phoenix Foundation provides supportive services to formerly homeless individuals and families, and provides access to opportunities to change our residents’ lives forever. We build community, teach new skills, provide support for residents in recovery from addictions, co-occurring mental health diagnosis, and disabilities. We offer programs to develop healthy lifestyles. As basic as these programs may seem, they mean the difference between life and death for our community’s most vulnerable.
Permanent supportive housing is a proven solution to homelessness for the most vulnerable chronically homeless people. It pairs housing with case management and supportive services.
How Permanent Supportive Housing Can End Chronic Homelessness
Investments in permanent supportive housing have helped decrease the number of chronically homeless individuals by 20 percent since 2007. In addition to ending homelessness for people who are chronically homeless, research has demonstrated that permanent supportive housing can also increase housing stability and improve health.
